Middle Man?

What's the process go by when i use a middleman? Like if i make a sucessful trade but i wanna use a middleman to be on the safe side, what would i do? Would i give him the info or the money, and he makes the trade for me or how does it work? I've been looking into using a middleman for a few of my accounts, but i have no idea how to work that, and if there is a fee for them or not.

Basically Middlemen are meant to ensure a safe trade between the buyer and seller.
As explained by Ravallo, the middleman basically collects the item and/or money, and changes the information or ensures that the trade has been successful before handing over money, and gives it to the respective party.
