Too much of CO2 can make a person inhuman and weird , too much of oxygen can kill a person , humans have co2 in them you cant have the thing you already have so you get the thing that you dont have and that supports your health instead of the thing you have.

That's just the way our bodies work and have evolved. Oxygen is a necessity for our red blood cells whilst Carbon Dioxide will be the waste/byproduct
Plants make us Oxygen, we inhale it, we exhale carbon dioxide, plants take in our carbon dioxide .

The reason we humans and animals breathe oxygen is because all the plants release oxygen, and take our CO2.
If plants had to take in oxygen and release CO2 from the start, then we would be breathing in CO2 and releasing oxygen.
