map packs?

hi,
i have read that you can use the AlterIWnet map packs on mw2 (steam not AIW)
is this true?
and if it is true can you get banned for doing it?

Well, I still have to say no.

because on steam you buy it and they add it in the steam game list for mw2.
(Mean, you can't get updates for it..)

Some say that they have added the aIW packs without any problem..
