my desktop's hdd was broken so i have only a 40gb one right now, i was wondering is it possible to switch my laptops 320 gb to my desktop and the 40gb to the laptop? im not that smart when it comes to hardware n stuff so.

The hard drives wouldn't be able to fit in each other's racks. On top of that a laptop's HDD is usually a much slower revving drive than for a desktop, but that also depends on how old the drives are.

my desktop's pieces are all like at least 6 years old , its fine for me but my problem is that i only have this 40gb hdd and since i dont use my laptop that much i wouldnt mind switching it for its 320gb wich i dont even have 20gb used of it , ya think itl be slower if i use it on the desktop?
