"Securing" an application

Hi, im making a program and one request is
that the program shouldnt be able to be used outside a certain
clan/group.

Im looking for ideas on what to do so i can ensure that the application doesnt get shared to other clans/groups so they can use it (without hacking/cracking it).

There is only one way to completely secure any kind of application: do not share it.

Other than that, your efforts will be futile. Granted, they'll make it harder, but'll you never achieve complete security.

Heres some. A key to the program. Or a personal generated one so everyone has a unique key.

I agree with freedompeace, you can never have a 100% secure application, there will always be a hole somewhere in it. All I can say is try to integrate a HWID System that uses PHP and MySQL, or use a program I found called sProtect. You can try that see if it works.

IP/mac/shit block or something

Just implement a simple database system, either via PHP or internally (internally is probably less secure) and then just allocate your clan members a username/password to login

It's not very difficult.

Yeah umm make a login system and make a personal pass & username for each person you want to share it with, You can make it easily without database system.

Change the xx.xxx.xxx.xxxx in the bold sence to your IP adress.
Try something else first to test.
Like this it only will allow your IP to get in program ^^
Kinda simple but it is usefull

Use the MySQL .Net Connector if you want to solve it with a database. You will need a database that allows external access for the .Net connector though.

W/ php you won't need external access.

You may also obfuscate your app to prevent decompiling.

Database in vb u can always crack. He dont want that

search for username + password in the app, and then its just a matter of doing

I went with this idea:

The login and password is going to be matched against the computer hardware id windows make "sort of unique" to the installation.

The 2 way communication between the server with php and my application will be using RijndaelManaged encryption while the password it self is hashed and salted.

This way seemed the "most secure" i could think of.

Just use a 512 bits password. The group people should save the code on there pc and use to login everytime.

I got 1 for my vip hack but its a 1024 bits password.
Nobody can crack that

what if you gotta a dynamic IP :O, just use a password...
