It's apparently better quality than a Dazzle, but below a HD PVR. You also get 30% off the price from Machinima if you find their link so it turns out to be cheaper than a Dazzle (Well, here anyway).

Wondering if I should get a PVR and fork out the money for HD quality or just get this for a bit cheaper and still have near HD quality.

Id do it , if youre going for a commentary and basic hd up to a flawless 720p and not top dog montage like mlg guys and mlg basement players, sure. It looks worth it, can yoi post some quality tests? Im on my phone.
