When I try to put in an auth. code, one that was posted in that thread for them, it gives me an error saying that this key was disabled or something, and to check my e-mail.
Is there some magical fix for this?

There might be the possibility that the authentification code has been blacklisted and won't work anymore. You can wait for a new and more recent code or try to find on for free at RSBuddy.
