I agree with there being no apparent point in a private server for ANY game. It's just pointless. Everything you gain on a private server is going to stay on that private server. You could spend all that time getting good shit there and have nothing on an official game server. It's just pointless. All the time you spent leveling up and getting items on a private server could have been better spent on an actual server where it matters.

The reason games have private servers, was originally so you can try out the end game content for game without having to actually level in the original game which would take months to years to get to the end game stuff. Now, it is so people can enjoy the joy of the original game without the restrictions. Such as WoW, MapleStory, and games like those. I've played many games and I've tried the private servers of those games as well, some of those private servers are in it just for the money, while others are in it just for the fun. There's no shame in playing on a private server, you can play on a private server while playing on the original game at the same time. Many people do this that way they can try out the end game content on the private server while at the same time leveling on the retail version.
