HelpMinecraft Auto-Updater unable to open

I have tried to delete my .minecraft folder and reinstalled it many times. The minecraft.jar itself works fine however the auto-updater will not open. I have tried many things, turning my computer on and off, compatibility checks, admin permission, etc. But all have failed, I use the auto-updater provided by this forum.

I use Windows 7 64-bit. The only way it works is by using a command prompt and forcing minecraft.jar to open. That is the only way that I have found that works. The auto-updater worked before the 1.6_5 update.

I, Myself had problems before with the auto-updater. The only thing i did was keeping to try and opening it. It worked fine for a while and now it is perfect. I am sorry but i don't even know myself what i did but it seems to have worked.
