early patch vind?

i was told you can patch the game before the servers are back up, how would you do this exactly? (never bothered to because i was usually out during the times patches were going on)

delete currentinfo.txt like 30min. after maintenance

Why would you do that? Patch the game before game update?

To either get an early look at files, so you can play the game as soon as the server goes up, or so you can download when the file servers aren't as congested for quicker downloads.
