If you mean UDK as in Unreal Engine. Then definitely that.

Because Gears of War, Unreal Tournament & Alliance of Valiant Arms (A.V.A) were all made on Unreal engine 3 and they're some of the best FPS going.

UDK. Unity is shit in comparison. UDK allows for so many more options.

@Jakob
It all depends on how much experience you have in gme creation. In UDk all models are made for you and teh environment is pretty good. Mostly everything is done for you and most people use it.

I prefer unity because i love to program in C# and javascript. I made a multiplayer game with a Game lobby vehicles, guns, and many more things. you can see my progress and game here:

Udk isnt as good as everyone says. I can recreate COD6 in unity. GoodLuck

I will be posting useful tutorials and projects for both game engines. So dont worry about it. There both very great to use. Unity is better

I'm planning to make a game too. I want it in UDK (But Unity looks good too). If you want we can work together.

UDK offers much more then UNITY, and UNITY is browser based so and UDK isn't. And I know people would rather play their games like most are, With an installer and a launcher, and not played in a browser.

EDIT: The default stuff in UDK is more futuristic/alieny but thats where the actual game development comes in. You have to make your own models, animations and put it what ever else you want.

Your Wrong. Unity has way more to offer than UDK. The only positive thing in UDK is the graphics already come premade(Good). In Unity you have total control over your game. UDk has most things for you. All you have to do is know how to use their IDE(Program).Unity3D uses a common language. C# and or javascript., were udk offers their own scripting language. Untiy3d is harder to learn at first. But you can achieve more in Unity3D than you can in UDk. Its teh end of the line with udk development. Unity3D is just starting.

Also Unity3D supports:
PC
Mac
Ps3
Xbox 360
Andriod
IOS

I have both, Ive seen both their pros and cons. Unfortunetlly their are more cons for UDK.

This shouldn't turn into a flame war, I've used both, so here are my opinions on each. Currently using Unity anyhow:

Pros:
------------------------------------------
UDK:
- Little to no work for high end graphics
- Easy to recreate unreal tournament, not so easy to make a game in a different genre
- Many assets are already made for you
- The fact it's Unreal Engine

Unity:
- Easiest to make any genre of game you want
- Much larger and helpful community
- Has almost every function UDK has, with more digging.
- So many plugins to make work easier
- Has in game development (You can be playing the game, and editing values, adding objects while doing it. Which proves to be a big help for bug testing etc.)
- Licensing is free for commercial use, until you make more than 50,000 in a year. Then you have to buy pro.

Cons:

Udk:

- At some point prior to the UDK Application’s release they will need to secure a royalty-bearing commercial UDK license with its US$99 license fee. After earning US$60,000, they would be required to pay Epic US$2,500 (US$0 on the first US$50,000 in revenue, and US$2,500 on the next US$10,000 in revenue).

(Taken straight from the website due to laziness)

- Hard to make different genres
- Many games end up being unreal clones
- You don't learn much.

Unity:

- Slightly slower engine, still beautifully powerful for being free
- You have to actually code/work.
- Requires more computer knowledge (C#, Javascript etc.)

I would personally use Unity, cause I like it. But if you're looking for a quick fix unreal tournament preset kinda game. Go right ahead.
