Idk, dude. I don't understand it either. But when I have MPGH up in the background, it kicks me off, if I don't have it up, it doesn't.

Could be possible that whatever version of hack shield or gameguard was in use was watching window titles. Maplestory was a bit overzealous in their hack detection when I used to play, it was actually the reason I quit, I couldn't play, even legit.

To me it just sounds like "hey i am level 3, but I don't want to put effort into this game, please come and hack lvl my account for me, we'll call it "sharing"

Then he can just change the pass and say he leveled himself that fast @@

That is why you make sure you know all the account information also. Nexon doesn't allow you to change name info, etc.
