XPERIA X8 and the Froyo 2.2.1
I have been planning to buy a Sony Ericsson XPERIA X8 phone since it has android but I'm confused. People say that it has only Android 1.6 and Sony didn't release newer version of that OS for X8 but people claim to use Froyo...

Can someone make it clear?:/ I would buy X10 but X8 is cheaper(fits my pocket) + it has Android...

It's latest stable and official OS version is 2.1. The ones who use Froyo/Gingerbread versions rooted their phones and installed custom ROMs on them. If you're planning to play games on that piece quit right now. It blows huge ass.
