You can read about WorldEdit in my WorldEdit thread to learn the basics or you can follow this tutorial.
How to copy and save an object in-game with WorldEdit
To save an object as a schematic you need to copy it to your clipboard and save it from there.
First we need to find an object. I've chosen this house.

You need a tool to select our cuboid with. To get that you'll type "//wand"

Then left click with the wand to select the first position and right click to select the second position. This is the first position i set to mark my house.

Then right click to select the 2nd postion. I have placed a block up there to get the full structure. You need to selct corners an sometimes you'll have to make a corner.

Then go back to the front of the house and type "//copy". You should go to the front because it copies relative to you. It will place in the same postion relative to you facing the same direction(NSEW). I wann control where i paste it whenever i do so.
When you wanna sava a object for posting it is usually a good idea to stand in front of it as people know where it will get pasted when they paste it.

Now you need to save the object you copied to your clipboard. Type in "//save [name]"

How to load and paste an object in-game with WorldEdit
To load an object you need to be sure that it is in our scematics folder. Then type in "//load [name]". Now the object is loaded to your clipboard.

Then to paste it you type in //paste and the house will paste relative to you. Which in this situation is in front of me because i am facing East like when i copied it.
You can rotate your clipboard by typing "//rotate [90, 180, 270, 360]" and your clipboard will rotate right however many degrees you typed in.

Now the house has been pasted relative to me and i can undo by typing "//undo"

How to export and import schematics to WorldEdit
At the momet you cannot import and export in Singleplayer. You can on your server though.
To export i just saved i'll have to go to Minecraft server\schematic and then find the file called SmallHouse.schemtic that i have saved with WorldEdit. Then i can post that schemtic on the internet.
If i wanna import an object i will simply need to download the schemtic and paste it in the schematic folder. Then you can load and paste the object on your server.

You can download and read about MCEdit in my MCEdit thread.
Exporting an object in MCEdit
First you need to open your world. You can click "Load World" to load a Singleplayer world or you can click "Open a level" to open a world from your server. I chose to click "Open a level" Then an explorer window will pop up and you'll have to navigate to your server folder. Then go into the world folder and open the file called "level.dat"

You will start at the spawn when you load your world. You navigate with WASD and look around by holding RMB. I have navigated to the house.

Then select the house by dragging a box around it. You will need blocks as corners. Press copy and a box will pop up in the upper right corner. Press save in that box and save the schematic whereever you want.

Importing an object in MCEdit
To load your object press the import button(the crane). Navigate to whereever you have your schematic saved. Then move the house to where you want it.

Then left click to place the object and thereafter press Ctrl+S to save.

@crex @iMexi. Can i post this in the creation section and then you can sticky it. It is mainly used to share creations.
