You can't really teach anyone how to play minecraft , it's a sand box game so you play it how you want
When you start I would recomend getting around 20 logs this should set you up for a while.
we have a cracked version i'll post the link for you in a minute

You need to find the mod you want, follow the instructions. It depends on the mod. Some mods need mod loader or audio loader. Basic mods such as TMI (Too Many Items) Just requires you to open up your minecraft folder, which you can access through the search bar by typing the following: %appdata%
Then you open .minecraft and click bin>minecraft.jar
Most mods require you to place class files in your minecraft.jar

You'll see the section "Newcomers", thats probably the spot you'd want to start in.
