I stumbled upon this really cool tool that lets you view DTXs right in the folder. But before I say anything, I want to let you know that I in no way made, thought of, or contributed to this thing. 3vIcT made it and posted it in the SA section and I thought that it would be really helpful for CA modders.
Okay, with that said, here is what it does.
If anyone here has used .DDS files, they are basically the same thing as .DTX files, except they are used for HL2 engine. And if you HAVE used .DDS files, you probably have DDSViewer. Well it is the exact same thing.
For those of you who HAVEN'T used DDSViewer, basically, what it does is makes it so that the thumbnail you see for each DTX is an image of the DTX itself. Here, take a look at this screenshot for clarification.
You can clearly tell what the PV_GHILLE.DTX looks like, without having to open it. The only flaw with this program is that it is designed for Sudden Attack, which doesn't use the same encoding as Nexon. Sudden Attack's dev team uses the default Lithtech encoding. So to actually be able to view the DTX as a thumbnail, you'll have to have the file(s) you want to see converted to Nexon, which can be easily done with DTX Convert.
I know that may make you think otherwise about using this program, but it really isn't much different. It only really adds a small extra step.
To easily convert every DTX in the folder to Nexon, use DTX Convert's 'Select Folder' function, rather than 'Select File'. Then navigate to the folder with the textures you want to view and open it. Convert, and all DTX's in the folder will be converted.
To Install:
Simply extract the files onto your desktop and click the Install.exe. The password is 3vict. Go through the process (it will be in the batch window).
To Uninstall:
Simply click on the Uninstall.exe and it will quickly uninstall it for you.
Quite frankly, I don't know what section this should be under either.
I have a plugin that does the same thing for PSD's, which is great for when you have multiple projects on the same gun, you don't get confuzzled.

Lol I really wish I had this when I was looking for the hand texture that replaces mismatched models. I seriously spent over 2 hours looking thru every fucking hand texture, and still couldn't find it. This would have made things a lot easier.
This would be SO HELPFUL if I still modded on a regular basis, I downloaded it anyway though
I would leave this in this section because this won't be useful to hackers. The Tool section is mainly Injectors and Cleaners .etc
I have this already but never used it xD
You simply convert the whole folder and then you can see them all.
