Since Vindictus pretty much has no security and a lot of accounts are being hacked, I'm just going to post what I do to help reduce that chance.
If this has already been made into a topic, I apologize and please delete this thread. ^.^
Create a list of passwords to use for playing the game on word or notepad. This is so you can copy/paste it into the reset box. Save this, and use this whenever you're on the game. For when you log off for the night, the following helps greatly to secure your account. Add security questions to beef up that account. When changing the password for when you're done with Vindictus, I do the following:
1)
Instead of logging into your account, click the question mark by the password box. You will then be asked to enter the email address associated with your account. If you can, paste your email address in this box. Click "Ok". If not, that's alright. The point in pasting is to prevent any possible keylogging.
2) Log into your email and click the link they send you.
3) Visit
https://www.grc.com/passwords.htm This is a unique site that generates some hefty passwords. I do recommend reading it through it the first visit, to get an idea of how this site works. Takes time out of creating massive secure ones, and I found it rather entertaining to keep clicking refresh to watch them change.../swt I prefer to use the middle one, as that seems to be the best IMO. Copy and paste one of the lines in the password reset box, click ok or update and just close the page entirely.
To play your game, you will need to repeat these steps only instead of using one of these passwords, use one that you made up for the day. Same deal.
Use an alternate forum account for buying/selling/posting on the forums. I'm sure the black hat hackers are using packet sniffers, as my friend educated me on how that works. Without actually logging into your main account on the website, this makes it a bit more difficult to be sought out-as I was told.
Credit goes to my friend, but I have no idea what his account name is on here lol. We've been doing this since the "epidemic" and so far have been lucky.
@Nico @Paladin not sure if I need this approved or not?
