Is Installous illegal or dangerous for your iPhone/iPod?I want to download it so bad but Im scared it might mess my iPod up

Uhhm well it shouldn't harm your iDevice in any way, it's just the free App Store
(Yes I have used it myself, works like a charm most of the time)

Well they can't catch you really, if you would just connect to iTunes with Installous installed apps: iTunes would remove them.
And you could always remove Installous and its apps (basically resetting to factory settings), which wouldn't leave any 'traces' or whatever.

iTunes would remove what?and btw is the latest version doesn't need to uninstall Safari DL plugin?

Well iTunes detect apps you have on your iDevice, but haven't purchased in the App Store.
There's something to prevent that from happening though, can't recall

Unsure about the Safari DL plugin, but I do know A5 chips can't be jailbroken on iOS 5 yet, only A4 chips can.

Yes, it's illegal in the US but in reality nobody gives two shits. Companies don't go hunting down teenagers and suing them.

So If I charge my iPod on my pc the iTunes will delete the Apps that I dowloaded?

Well unless you decide not to open iTunes / close iTunes (Ctr+Alt+Del) in time, you can just charge your iPod
And there's something to prevent iTunes from detecting/deleting them, can't recall (I'll ask my little brother tomorrow, he knows)

Well, it's illegal but everyone still uses it. (Including me,) & no, your apps will not get deleted nor will any of your photos/music, etc. You can sync it without any problems.

Or they can just go to the source of installous and somehow do some crazy shit and stop it

jailbreaking is not illegal.. they allow it..

Erm, Apple tried sueing the guys who made redsn0w and lost. In a court hearing it was said that jailbreaking an ipod is not illegal, just stealing the apps is illegal, in which case it can't be proven that the apps are stolen, just for use as a precursor to actually buying the app. So it's not illegal anymore.
