WARNING* You might see me raging a little bit on this post.
okay i believe almost everyone who plays crossfire has had this problem before. You probably will know what my problem is. You guessed it, high ping.
Now if my internet were to be really slow, then okay i would leave it at that, because i already know that slow internet connection leads to higher ping.
Now the problem is that my internet is decently fast. And my ping hits up to 200-400, even 1000 if it gets worse. This started happening since 3 days ago, and it still happens. I logged on just now and found myself looking at my own ping status hitting up at 320ish, sometimes hitting back to 100 (normal for my wireless internet) but like 30 seconds later hitting back up to that same 200-400.
Now dont comment stuff like try re-install/download, gamebooster, virus scan, whatever. Because I've already tried all of them. I'm not stupid.
I've asked all my clan friends, they just said try re-installing, or download the latest version of directX, like I said, i'm not that stupid for not even trying anything then posting this.
Im really pissed about this, because basically when it comes to freetime after doing work, crossfire is all i have. PRACTICALLY. I do have minecraft but it's really boring. I have nothing to do but wait till nighttime and kill some mobs.
Please, can anyone know how to fix this major problem?
BTW, i know this post is really long...im raging quite a bit..but one more thing.. I can connect my laptop to cable internet when i bring it in my living room, but no help. As i've plugged in my cable internet and started crossfire, the same old ping status just hit back. And no i dont think it's the internet's fault, but then it leaves off being my computer's fault. But the weird thing is, my computer is really good. It's only like 1-2 years old. I bought it last summer.
Apparently your Internet connection is very unstable, but remember doesn't matter how high your Internet Connection is, the Ping depends of your location too, so changing the server or your location can help you on this problem. Also it's recommended you use Ccleaner + SmartClose to get rid of everything using your bandwidth, letting only CF with the connection.
Man there are hell alot of tuts in Tutorial Section Ive made like 4 my self... so just search them... and meave it will help
alright i forgot to say this, but i live in US.
And yes i will search up on tutorial section but i dont think anything can help..any more suggestions about this?
ipconfig/flushdns Will Help
? what's that?
go to start > run > cmd And type ipconfig/flushdns will reduce 10 - 15 from the ping
go to start > run > cmd And type ipconfig/flushdns will reduce 10 - 15 from the ping
This won't work for me.
I am not sure why.
Use Gameboster / CCleaner And Advance System Care
i used them all and my ping now between 35-70
like i said hensley, no that did not work -.- gamebooster did nothing but slow down my system.
And i've tried that leaten latency fix watever, did not work.
Maybe i should try re-installing win7 again. If that doesnt work, either i gotta ask for a new wi-fi session, or just not play CF anymore..

"Are you the only one accessing your internet connection?"
nope, my sister's on computer 24/7 PRACTICALLY. (well not really, she's on most of the time), and sometimes my mom. My dad barely uses INTERNET, he just watches movies and TV, lying on the couch snoring his arsehole off.
