AFAIK if you set up SSDs in RAID you lose TRIM support.

I don't really understand RAID lol.
Just using SSD for boot, HDD for data.

But 7.9 is 7.9.
Usually the larger the SSD, the faster. Depends on the SSD's controller really, but that's usually the case.

If you properly update the controller and install your controller's drivers you'll get TRIM support even in RAID.
My PC is sad compared to yours. 5.1

Don't really need a shit ton of memory on a SSD since you shouldn't be using it for anything other than OS and program installs. Writing to a SSD shortens the life of the device. Until they figure out how to stop drive degradation in this sense you shouldn't bother putting shit like movies and music on your drives. I wouldn't trust a SSD with my entire library of shit.

I believe the MLC (the newer ones) drives have an expected life of 5+ years, which by then they would be replaced so I don't really have a problem. / I don't think my 64 gig is MLC, but I'll probably replace it in 2-3 years.

I was thinking of transferring my games+OS, but in retrospect that doesn't make sense since the only impact on performance is applications opening faster. So yeah, it would make sense to keep only my OS on it.

How does setting up SSDs in a RAID affect TRIM support?

Even the current low-end drives will last you well over a year or two, I think the average failure rates after 1 year hover at 5% or something. Good enough for me, at least for now.

You'll need to update drivers and bla bla bla in most cases. It just doesn't work out of the box usually.
What does RAID do?
@Alen
@Doc

Wiki confused me.
