Using this technique it will allow you to be able to move around the map silently and quickly without the problems associated with bunny hopping. The principles behind this technique were first discovered by Denxi (who basically has discovered the majority of the glitches in CF NA). However over time it evolved and became more practical. Before to execute this one would have to crouch sideways however now due to changes in the system we can exploit this to the fullest.
Concept
In Cross Fire the first steps do not trigger a sound to occur, in fact you can move forward roughly 3 times before you make a noise. Additionally if you press shift it will reset the sound trigger loop. Because of this we can run forward 3 steps press shift to reset the sound loop and continue the process until we reach our destination of choice. Its important to note that with this technique we can do the same moving in any direction.
Why to not BHop?
Bunny hopping is fast, there is no doubt about that. However when bunny hopping one of the biggest issues is that it makes long range shots difficult. Not to mention you are unable to turn easily while bunny hopping forwards (with some exceptions).
Practice
The best way to get used to this is to go into a room that is fairly quiet and get a feel for when you hear the sound of your footstep. Once you have figured this out press shift right before it will occur and you will notice that the sound trigger doesn't occur.
Good luck with this technique, while I am sure some of you may know about it already it is something I feel is useful to anyone.

'Some exceptions.' - Front BHop can turn if you utilize your back bhop as well. Its kind of like you're using your back Bhop to steer, and your frontwards bhop to accelerate. How I think of it.
Also do you have a video of some sort? If so, post it here. I'm sure people would love it if you did - so they can see exactly what you mean.
The BHop style I was referring to was this one, it does not involve any backward BHops.

Nice bhop...
Are you trying to tel us hold the shift while moving ?

No, the concept (that now is patched) is that you could move tap forward three times without making any sound as the 4th step was the one that triggered the sound file for running. Shift/crouch acted as a way to reset that sound loop quickly while still moving therefore you could move faster then walking without making noise.
However the game mechanics that allowed it to work now are fixed (moving forward makes sound off the initial step) therefore it only works when moving sideways making it fairly useless once again. If someone could close this since it no longer works it would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

It's more speed walking than silent running. I use it when clutching in S&D.
nice job
Thank you and nice job
nice job man...
Thanx .
Too complicated. Use hacks. xD
Props to OP for giving credit.
Just an FYI, when this was unpatched you could move without pause by tapping Forwards and Left/Right, and moving on a diagonal. I found tapping the keys to be preferable because I found it easier to react and change direction.
steps are kind of complicated, but good job anyways
