Helpsystem to ban

vac status :banned from some secure servers because of a cheating infraction.

Is this a ban on the CD key or on my IP adres or my account.

Can i do a total new installation with the same cd key...

Your CD key can only be used one time, and is bound to your account.
When you're banned, it is the account caught cheating that is banned, meaning you'll have to make a new steam account and buy the game on that account to play it online again. Hope that answered your question(s).
