I downloaded 3D Studio Max today. After following a few tutorials I created this wine glass.

Not bad. I dont know 3dmax, Can you use materials? if so make a nice Glass material and it'll look just fine, perhaps you could raise the top abit, make it longer. so it's not so stubby.
