You can completely disable the Metro UI to get a Windows 7-ish experience.

What is the difference between the Windows 7 Developer Preview and the Windows 7 Consumer Previews? I ask because I downloaded the Developer and I have two concerns with it.

1) The login and the Metro UI is ugly as fuck.
2) It is a sack of shit, it seems to be laggy at times and OTT.

You crack me up. W8 will not only surpass everything Mountain Lion plans to add, but will add something special: ARM support. Imagine using the same OS on your gaming desktop, work laptop, fun tablet and mobile phone. Yes, that's happening. Also medfield will rape.

Is there anyway to install it to another hard drive cause I dont want to lose what I got in-case I hate it.

You can setup a virtual os and still use Windows 8 while running your other OS.

Just dual boot it bro, it runs nicer when its properly installed.
Personally I'm not one for the Metro UI for a desktop experience, it would fucking rock on tablet though not gonna lie, but seeing as I don't have one, I just disable it and use classic windows desktop.
