How can i create a hack from the start...

I'm actually having the same problem. I have a degree in CS&IS, I know how to code. However, I have no idea how to go about creating a mp hack from scratch. I just need something/someone to explain how you would go about doing it. All the tutorials I see are about using/recycling other peoples code or applications. It's quite funny that I can make game, but don't know how to hack them. I've never dealt with the networking side of games.
