You don't need a credit card.. you can get Xbox live Gold cards pretty much anywhere games are sold. Can even buy them in supermarkets.

I'm going to say a few things. Firstly, a PC is a MUCh better investment compared to ANY console. I have all three of the modern consoles, PS3, XBOX and WII. I hardly use any, and only play games on there that are exclusive to those consoles. Reason? PC Games > Console Games. Not only are games better, but they are free in many cases (if you know how to get them). Having said that, all three of my consoles are cracked, I can get games on there for free. Consoles are shit, anyone who uses them as a primary source of gaming is either A) stupid or B) can't afford a decent PC. Even though a PC may cost 2-3x more than a console, you will be paying that much for online subscriptions and games..

If you pay $60 for a game on xbox, it most likely costs the same on the PC. So if you follow your logic, you'll end up paying $1040 for a "decent" PC.
