Hirudinoid

Well, my buddy started this psy-dubstep group called Hirudinoid. The meaning of Hirudinoid is leech-like, and the general feel of the group is explosive cosmical leech organisms lmao

He wanted a logo and i came up with this,

Dont like it overall, the background doesnt work, the font seems odd and im not sure why the oversharpened white dots are there but they need to go

What's with the random bold like strokes, also did you use noise located @ the glow settings of your centre layer.

Also i wont this would be a "leech", I don't want to sound like a d*ck orz. but this isn't really that much.
Except for the thing in the bg what's quite nice (gradient???) but i mean like the font isn't really that nice either.

I read this aswell "He wanted a logo and i came up with this," This isn't really a logo. It should be more simple or atleast abit more monotone. This would be a better fit as a cover.
