Right, heres the problem

I open 3 crossfires in VMWare with a bit of lag but when I open 4 it lags like mad and when i open 5 my pc freezes
What is the problem? Many farmers said I have to buy more RAM for my PC. Is that true because I dont want to waste money and find out they were wrong.

More information:

Windows vista home premium service pack 2
Packard bell
ixtreme m3720
intel core 2 quad cpu q8300 2.50ghz
ram 4.00 GB
64 bit

vmware settings:

708 MB per virtual machine
2 processors (1 processor with 2 cores)

that is all the information i can give you guys
please find the solution as fast as possible

What do you mean with 'lag'? ... You mean like ping spiking? ... In that case , A faster connection may solve the problem
If it is computer going slow ... Then more RAM / Faster CPU is required

Then you better get a new pc because with those low spec´s you shouldent be running a more then 1 vm :|

Bad Specs, update your cpu and ram. CPU at least an i5/i7 and at least 8gb of ram to run that many vm's

How much ram are you allocating to each vm? If you've allocated 1gb to each of the 4 then your main OS is going to have no ram to run on, if you've allocated less than 512mb on each then you'll have 2gb for your main os but crossfire will run slow.

im going to get 16 GB RAM with a new motherboard to run on my PC and i don't get you about the CPU.
I have 708 MB per VM and when I do get my 16 GB how much memory should I add in all the VMs and how much do you think I should add now (4 GB)

Running 8 vm's is overkill for any cpu, however if you want to run around 4-6 stable upgrade to an intel core i7 cpu. The 16gb of ram will do you wonders, you'll basically be able to chuck 2gb into each vm which'll be fine.

And also my last question, Is there anything else better than an i7?

24GB is overkill... But it should be able to run 8 VM's with no problem.

I would recommend getting ATLEAST 16 Gigabytes of RAM before even attempting to run a full badge farm for CF.

On my computer (4.0Gigabytes of RAM, 64bit W7 Premium) I can run 4 Crossfires, but my computer will literally star hissing at me.

I have multiple computers, but most are lacking the ability, so it's faster to just set-up 3 or 4 seperate computers each running one or two VMs

Get a better RAM, With that kind of computer you can't even open 2 or 3 vm
