Smudge tag + B&W = Disaster
The colored version, on the other hand, is quite awesome, the effects are fine and the flow is nice.
I find the small usage of topaz on the effects though really unneccessary.
The smudging seems quickly done, more effort would've made it detailed and it would sure put more depth which this tag somehow lacks IMO.
Maybe more vibrancy on the purple?
And just a side notice, I'm working on smudging myself. I'll reveal my project soon.
oh it just looks blury because cs6 has this new blur function called Iris blur and well here is a video of it.
i was just practicing with it
That's actually not bad, usually when I smudge (almost never as I don't see the point) it's all just blurry and crappy looking. You worked with it and made it part of the image. I like it. (Referring to the colored version.)

I think the point for most taggers when they smudge is to do something with minimal resources,
so that the tag is more authentic and it can be called their own work, opposed to crediting (or not)
the majority of the resources used to other sources.
I like the smudge out the render but when it comes too far out the colour completely changes, it would have been better if you faded it into the other colour instead of it changing straight away. But I like the concept of your signature.
Great work, Dylan. Glad you didn't topaz it.
I actually just finished a smudge tag...
