Slimes

So many things...to ask. Soz.

Okay well I got my server running, HUGE thanks, to @non ame ,and I'm just using MCEdit to copy my single player world to my multiplayer world. It worked, but...slimes. Urg.

So basically I made my world superflat so my world can fit, and...before I made it flat, slimes didn't spawn. But now, no animals spawn, only slimes do. In about 5 seconds my world is infested with slimes..

I already have a plugin that disables which mobs spawn and which do, like I disabled enderman and shit and they don't spawn no more. I disabled slimes clearly, but they still spawn. I tried putting difficulty on peaceful, but no luck.

Any way to fix this? In my single player world, slimes were like super rare.

Well, slimes are just too common in superflat worlds. Btw what plugin are you using?

No, I just made my normal world completely flat with MCEdit.

I'm currently using "manta mobcontrol v1.0"

Ehm I don't really know. Maybe try another mob controlling plugin?

I have. I've tried:
-Mobcatcher

-SlimeBlocker

You might alter the map to a different hight so slimes don't spawn and then paste your world?

by "height", do you mean the world max build height?
Or, do you mean like put the whole world as 2 blocks high...

Put the whole world ~10 blocks higher so slimes cannot spawn ^^

So if my max build height is 295, +10 = 305.. change 295 to 305? That what you mean?

And, if I do that, how would that change the behavior of slimes spawning?

The max build hight is 256
Slimes spawn at a specific hight, so if you put like 10< layers of dirt (onto the bedrock layer) and then paste your map onto it slime won't spawn

okay @non ame thanks again, slimes still spawn, but in my trap area somehow it doesn't.

Are you using essentials ?? if so well you can disable the slimes in teh config.yml file with notepad++ and you should havve no problemt with slimes :P
if it doesnt work well ima try and find a plugin for you

You can check slime's chunk on reis minimap

This is a very old thread, but since it has been bumped, I will post a final reply.

Slimes only spawn in the bottom 40 levels of the map. That is 0 to 40. They only spawn in certain chunks, which is determined by seed.
This mob spawn regardless of light level.

If you need a plugin, try Essentials. There is a mob disabler function. Otherwise, make the floor of your trap elevation 41.

They'll fix slime spawning in 1.3 too.
