[Help] minecraft cant start downloading

minecraft cant start downloading

well i got this problem like 3 weeks ago when my minecraft had no sound so i decided to redownload .minecraft but then when i download it the whole app hangs when it is downloading at 1-10% and i cant do anything about it i tried the force update and it also hangs\crashes someone help me plz

Delete your bin folder.. run minecraft, click force update .

Yes. Go here via Windows Explorer:
%APPDATA%

That takes you to the Roaming folder. You'll see a ".minecraft" folder. Delete that completely, then redownloaded Minecraft and login normally. It will update to the most recent version due to the fact Minecraft will act as if it has never been installed onto your computer.

i did...and the download will be stuck at around 1%-10%
e.g. retrieving:lwjgl(the 1st file) 1% e.g.25 kb/s[download speed here]
(but there is no download speed here and the download stops as told from 1-10 % or more with no download speed shown)

i am using fibre so there should not be a problem with downloading

Try delete all minecraft folders including .minecraft, then go on the website and play multiplayer and let it download, then go download client and then it should work. I did that and it worked

when you click force update close all of the running programs. If still you are stuck at 1%-10% try manually downloading the version you want and then put it in your bin folder as "minecraft"

updating java helped when i ran into this problem
also, i deleted the .minecraft folder
