It is wholly vanilla.

So is there any word on if it works for Mac OSX at all?? And if so does anyoone have any server recommendations?

It is completely functional on Mac OSX.

Confirmed working 4 / March / 2013, Xubuntu 12.10

Procedure:

Run MinecraftSP.jar. You will get a black screen. Close the application.

Download latest lwjgl.
Replace the contents of /.minecraft/bin with /jar inside lwjgl's zip file.
Replace the contents of /.minecraft/bin/natives with /native/linux inside lwjgl's zip file.

Run MinecraftSP.jar again. Minecraft should work.

Sound seems a little buggy, but runs faster than Win32's versiom under Wine.
