Well they plan to announce their findings on the 4th. Two groups independent of each other got the same findings. At the moment they are 99.999995% sure it is the Higgs. I mean at this point in time they really don't know shit about the thing, but they are nearly positive it is the Higgs.

I just hope they don't end up fuckin up when they run the LMH at high luminosity

You have two separate types of physics you learn of, macro physics which abide fairly well by Newtonian physics, then you have microscopic physics or quantum physics which operate on an entirely different set of rules. Particle physics on this scale require you to have some understanding of quantum mechanics.
