Microsoft Points

So, I live in Canada. But each week, me and my family go to the States and get most of what we want\need to buy there.

I had never bought or used MS points before and I needed some to buy all the DLC content for Batman: Arkham City. So, I bought 2 1600 point cards (40$ value) and when I got home I tried both codes and realized that for some reason they did not work. After carefully reading the back of the card (which is what I should have done before I bought it) I found out that the codes are region specific.

Trying to find some way to fix this and still be able to use my points (since I already scratched them and can not return them) I went to the *********! :P

I tried changing my account and console to United States of America, but, that did not work. My account says U.S.A and everything yet I still can't use the cards.

The only other thing my research found out, is that I can make a second American account (which I already did) and put my points on there. After my points are on there I found out that I should be able to use the same content on my main account as long as it's on the same console and the licence or whatever is the same. This shouldn't be an issue since: A. My console is new (got it in March). B. I take very good care of it. and C. It's the only one I'm ever going to play Batman: Arkham City on.

So, my question is: Will I be able to do this? Will I be able to use the DLC content on my main account even if I downloaded it on a second account (assuming they were both made on the same console and I'm using both of them on the same console)?

As I do not own an Xbox360 I'm not sure how there points system works entirely so @Killian might be your best shot for this one mate. If the content is on the same hard-drive/console it should work for all accounts (Just Speculating)

You should be able to. A friend of mine was in a similar predicament when he set up his account with his actual DOB, which at the time he was underage for rated M games and content, therefore Microsoft denied him access to purchase M-rated content. He just made another account with the proper privileges and was able to use them under his main account because of the shared license ID.

The answer to your question is yes. You can use the DLC even if you bought on a different account. To get the the DLC to your main account:
1. sign in on both main and DLC account. (both must be live accounts)
2. on your account that has the DLC go to account purchase history.
3. sign off the account while still on purchase history.
4. Now you will be able to download any DLC that was on the secondary account with your main account.
5. download and enjoy

Yes, buy with american account sense you bought american MS points.. You have to download the DLC to the profile you used to purchase. So you would have to download twice if you wanted it on your account.

I had this same issue, I just called Microsoft and they solved it quick.

Just got off the phone with Microsoft 2 minutes ago, I was told that unfortunately, due to people abusing it so much. The feature to have your account reigon changed AND the feature to have American codes exchanged for Canadian and vice-versa was taken away, so that won't work.

Sorry I took so long to get back to you. I've been enjoying the shit out of all the DLC, and before that I was busy with IRL stuff for a few days. It worked fine, I didn't even need to download it twice or anything.

I just added the MP to my American account, bought the DLC (I only did Catwomen's so far, but I'll do more 1 by 1), downloaded it, logged into my main account, went into the game, and it worked. ^_^
