Looking at old threads
We all used to contribute so much more, we're still around but we don't post as much. What's happening?!

Miss the good old days around here.
Growing tired of noobs that have no idea how to use the search button? 90% of the threads here could be answered by searching :\
You guys just suck these days

I still remember the day I was fucking up on dll injection and H_D helped me by showing that a dll is just 'an executable' in another executable Good times

Just noticed that demonoid is down It's a sad day indeed
Agree on Wes.

Half these people here are leechers. Personally At the moment all the code I do is at work (Yes I am back to it...)
Dont have any motivation for this atm.. Dunno..
It's because this sub-forum is just full of dickheads who don't want to help themselves. If you also look back at the old threads, people that came here were asking better, more interesting questions. They were also actually trying hard to learn what others had to teach (especially from BA :3). Nowadays whenever I open this forum there's just like 5000x threads about injection and loaders. I get sick of typing the same answers over and over again, especially when the people just reply with "error no work gib full prjkt plz". There used to be really cool discussions about in-depth programming and all sorts of white/blackhat hacking. Now it's just noobs rehashing the same question over and over...and over.

In short, we don't post because 95% of the posters in the forum are fucking idiots.
I didn't know we could post blackhat here. Got some botnet sources laying around...

But we can't blame it all on noobs and idiots. If you don't come up with an interesting project to make, and only wait for others to post something nice then you're part of the problem. I have instresting ideas enough, although I haven't posted any project of mine recently.

For example what do you guys think about: A dynamic sound implementation. Right now sounds that play in games are just recorded pieces of sound that play on a certain action. But you could make it function like the graphics work in games. So instead of just 'playing pieces of sound' you could combine sounds and textures into a new sort of object, which you can use to 'generate' natural sounds in much the same was that games 'generate' shadows among other thigns. So instead of:

Code:
void MetalHitsStoneSound(){
 Sound.play( "metal_and_stone_impact.mp3" );
}
you'd get:

Code:
void OnTextureColision( obj1, obj2, player){
  Sound.mix( Obj1.material, Obj2.material, player.GetlocationFromColision( this ) ).play();
}
You guys catching my drift or what?

The problem is that we're the only people that appreciate anything other than "Injekt0rs & h4x". When we release anything here outside of that small niche, or try to discuss it, we're pretty much the only people who will talk about it. Sure, a bunch of people might +1 their postcount and say "thanks, this is awesome", but I haven't seen anyone that we don't already know make an effort to understand anything. Now hardly anyone visits the forum anymore and so people get no comments. It's quite a lame feeling.

Back in the "old days" (and I got in late), there was a much bigger community feel to the section. There were very few leechers around, and those that did were quickly shut down. There were a lot more people trying to learn (I still am, but all the people I looked up to bailed on this site), and there'd always be cool discussions to read up on. There were people like BlackAngel who used to really mentor people in the section and it was fun to be here. I know I'm sounding like a typical old-fag saying "I remember the good old days" but seriously, it's shit now.

Sure, some of it may come down to the fact we're being egotistical cunt-buckets, but the fact is that anyone in this forum that is keen actual programming seems to be in our MSN chat group. Why bother posting here and getting our thread spammed by leechers (or getting infracted for dropping an f-bomb), when we can just have a more lively discussion via MSN.

Personally, I've been working on dozens of different projects, but I just don't feel the need to post them on MPGH any more. Takes too long to set up a thread that will be on the 2nd page in like an hour.

I think we're part of the problem, no doubt. We expect a largely young-teen hacking forum to provide us with some riveting programming discussion and I think we're looking in the wrong place.
Most of the oldies are egotistical cunts. Can't blame you though, it happens with everyone in different ways (old fag new fag bullshit, shit getting to people's heads, etc).

But yeah, I can see that the section got rather inactive after the few people who held the section together fell apart. Now it's pretty much Q&A.
Damn Jason, that sounds really depressing. But you're probably right, I remember that I could read articles and tutorials every month or so about advanced subjects, as well as many how-to's about basic stuff. Now it almost seems like the only tutorials being posted here are the same old copied-and-pasted pieces of vb injector code.

About that msn group, I'm in it, though nobody seems to ever be online, you are though. Am I part of the group or did something go wrong?

I never see you online! (Though I don't know what your MSN name is)
Fairly sure it is our fault indeed, I suppose we could take it upon ourselves to try and change this section, but meh. Judging from the threads on the first page alone I'd say it'd be worthless unless someone decides to really dedicate some time to it

That's the question isn't it? Is this little community valuable enough to spend time and dedication to save it? Sure it'd be fun to have this section back and running again, but is with worth the effort?
@Jason @.::SCHiM::.
I'd like to join this msn group, it seems interesting and i might learn something out of it
and probably the main reason this section has gone dead is because nothing new has come up. in my opinion this section hasn't changed abit in threads, there's always been the "giv me code, i pay mony" people spamming around. it's just theres been interesting questions and good projects, however now if there is good questions or projects, they've already been asked/made.
