Description:
Marijuana is the green substance which is produced by drying the leaves of the cannabis sativa plant. It contains many chemicals, around 400 or more chemicals.
Medical use(s):
Marijuana is used as a medicine to treat or cure diseases like, interocular pressure (pressure inside the eye), chemotherapy-induced nausea, psychiatric disorders such as depression, sleep disorders, and Alzheimer's disease.
Method(s) of use:
The most common way marijuana is used is by smoking, which is the most effective way. Here you have a list of the ways it can be used.
Joints– marijuana cigarettes
Blunts- marijuana rolled in the leaf wrap of a hollowed out cigar
Pipe- same as tobacco pipes but made of more heat resistant materials
Waterpipe aka (bong)- water cools the smoke and removes much of the irritant materials
Short-term symptoms:
Short term symptoms of Marijuana include drowsiness, impaired short-term memory, reduced ability to concentrate, loss of coordination, increased heart rate, and dry mouth.
Long-term symptoms:
Long term symptoms of Marijuana include things like abnormal physical development, and also reduced levels of testosterone which means that it will delay deepening of voice, growth of beard, development of muscle mass. This however was for men. For women its similar. For women, it can have a big affect on your children and it may be undeveloped when born.
Withdrawal symptoms:
Withdrawal symptoms of marijuana include irritability, anxiety, physical tension, decreases in appetite and mood, stomach pain, physical tension, restlessness, anorexia, insomnia, violent behavior, weird dreams
Overdose:
There is technically no such thing as a marijuana overdose. The most common, and closest thing to an "overdose" of marijuana is puking or even just a headache from it. It is nearly impossible to die from smoking marijuana, you must smoke atleast 100 pounds in one day, which is impossible for one human to consume because they will have thrown up thousands of times before that and had huge headaches to even continue smoking marijuana. So there really is no overdose of marijuana resulting in death.
