Looks like some people are still asking about stuff like "What programs do you use to reduce ping & FPS". This will tell you a basic understanding of what they are. This thread is meant for those people to understand that no programs will lower your ping. [ FPS will be dealt separately ]
Basically a ping is created by internet connection's delay. Every internet connection needs a delay of getting to your PC. The faster your internet connection (delay), the lower your ping will be. High ping means the opposite of this.
There's no such program that will make your internet connection fast, search it up all you want. Things that might seem legit are really just bogus programs.
When you have high ping, check ...
- If anyone in your household that uses the same internet connection protocol is downloading something, or watching a lot of videos.
- If the internet cable is plugged in correctly.
- If your PC is far away from the internet connection source.
You CAN "ipconfig" and flush your disk, but it will only lower your ping for like ~5.
So overall, we can say to have lower ping, just get better internet connection. Simple as that.
FPS:
FPS is different from ping, FPS does not have ANYTHING to do with internet connections. It has to do with your amount of RAM mainly. For ping, it's better if it's low, but for FPS, the higher the better gameplay.
To get higher FPS, do these things:
- Check here for a method of getting higher FPS. [ http://www.mpgh.net/forum/287-crossf...crossfire.html ]
- Download Gamebooster or WTFast. They will increase your FPS for ~20+.
- Add more RAM.
- Check for virus.
- Close any unnecessary programs. Use "Smartclose" for best results.
- Type "msconfig", go to services, then startup, and end any processes you do not need.
- Uninstall any programs you do not need anymore.
*I understand there has been some posts like this in "Tutorials" section, but I made it much more detailed for beginners who does not know the meaning of "ping" and "FPS".*
