In order to modify patches for any game, you'd need a jailbroken PS3 with a FTP .pkg installed. onto your PS3. Now, the only jailbreaks that are available right now are for 3.55 OFW, so you'd need to downgrade using a E3 flasher or buy a PS3 off like ebay with 3.55 OFW installed onto it.
