Looking for feedback on this Image

So last night I get pretty bored and made this U.S. Air Force logo/badge thingy in Adobe Illustrator. I normally use Photoshop CS6 but we started using Adobe illustrator in my College Illustration class so i'm trying to learn the program. It took me about 2 hours, getting all the colors right on the jets sucked. Just looking for some feedback so i can improve upon, since of course this was only my 2nd time using Adobe illustrator.

I really like it except for the fact that the jets overlap. I think it would look a lot better if they didn't and maybe even better if they were flying slightly more straight rather than diagonally down.

I meant like more "at you" but this isnt bad. I would maybe overlap the jets over the ribbon, just the red part though. Keep the blue part on top of the jets.
