What do server admin's get or see?
Hey guys,

Sorry if someone has already posted something like this. But I did do a forum search and came up blank.

I was wondering what privileges and info/tools server admins have to discover hackers....Like do they get a map with players on it, or coordinates of players?

I was playing on a server last night and this admin was asking how one guy was moving so fast...how did he know if he wasn't using DayZ Nav or something similar??

Just seeking information in case I use DayZ Nav on a server while admins are online....

thanks
The server logs show the locations of players from what I've heard a friend. Very abusable if you ask me. Admins have been shifted from no power to way too much IMO.
When admins are logged in as admin (User 32ms *Admin*) or are using a third party tool they can spectate players (Allowing them to open you inventory to check for hacked weapons) Hear what you say in game, (Text + Chat) they also have a list of weapon and item interactions to see where you found what item and how long after you spawned etc. to see if you just spawned them into the game.

I personally don't think they have enough power, hackers with the right scripts and a working bypass can do a shit ton more then admins ever will and I think it is stupid.
I am a admin myself? i do not have these tools i can see the in game chat and i can see where peoples coordinates are WHEN THEY MOVE TOO FAST i can see what scripts were executed on the server and i can also see when people used flares/ammo crates/small ammo boxes (in barracks) and anything you use that's intractable. I also see when people crash vehicles and that's pretty much it o.o nothing to abuse really unless the admin uses a hack to spectate you (CANNOT CHECK INVENTORY) my server owner uses a paid bypass from a site whom must not be named and uses a spectate script.
Wow I didn't realise they could literally watch what you were doing and stuff....this makes hacking on private hives with active admins basically impossible because they will know what your doing all the time.... looks like its back to chernarus hive for me
I personally don't think they have enough power
Depends on the server I guess, I know for a fact that the admins on the ANZ servers in Australia can see your inventory as they actively ban people for carrying radios etc. They also spectate people as one told me when I blew up c4 underneath me to see what would happen, when I didn't die he commented me on my cool hacks before banning me.

They have some flash plug-ins and third party content so I guess every server varies.

That's stupid, fuck that guy. Any admin blowing people up to "see what would happen" shouldn't hold those powers.
Good question, really. - And I don't think admins should have more power than hackers, at least.. admins should only have the powers that'll allow them to track actual hackers and the like. I've met way too many abusive admins. Friend who doesn't hack ended up killing the admin of this server I was on and blew up his truck, and he got banned.

I definitely know they can observe you, haha. Quite awhile before I ever even touched a hack, I had an AS50 TWS that I found in a tent. Had an admin come out of no where and comment on the gun, then banned me. (And I know admins aren't supposed to be allowed to do all this stuff either, though I've yet to see an abusive admin get in trouble.)
Yes you can see whats in a players inventory but only when they log in or out. Its in the arma2oaserver.rpt. File. It looks like this....

19:21:15 "LOGIN ATTEMPT: "PlayerNameHere"
19:21:16 "WRITE: ['PASS']"
19:21:16 "READ/WRITE: ['PASS',false,'XXXYYY',[209,[LOCATION HERE]],[["ItemFlashlight","AK_47_M","Colt1911","Binocular", "ItemKnife","ItemMatchbox","ItemWatch","ItemHatche t"],[["30Rnd_762x39_AK47",22],["30Rnd_762x39_AK47",29],["30Rnd_762x39_AK47",24],["30Rnd_762x39_AK47",26],["30Rnd_762x39_AK47",25],"FoodCanPasta","30Rnd_762x39_AK47","30Rnd_762x39_ AK47","ItemWaterbottle","ItemWaterbottle","FoodCan BakedBeans",["7Rnd_45ACP_1911",1],["7Rnd_45ACP_1911",5],"ItemBandage","ItemBandage"]],["DZ_ALICE_Pack_EP1",[[],[]],[["ItemSodaCoke","ItemMorphine","ItemBloodbag","Item Epinephrine","PartWoodPile","30Rnd_762x39_AK47"],[3,3,1,2,1,1]]],[2471,2714,2714],Survivor2_DZ,0.96]"
Ive been banned on an ANZ server but no other survivor/bandit was close to me so i think they do have some sort of log to show whats been happening
Im curious to see what the standalone will have for Admin privledges...
i think as it stands. a server vanilla with not bells in whistles the admins have very little power. but now im hearing you can get server sides scripts and stuff installed that give them other powers. so the possibilities are kinda endless. just depends on what scripts the server is running.
