Ciphering/Renaming?

I am not very familiar with the process and how it exactly works. People tell me "Cipher it and rename it, then it will work." So let's say the .dll I downloaded was "Hack.dll". I used the cipher program to cipher it, it says it ciphered successfully, then ill rename the file "AshKetchum.dll", inject it...then it still crashes. Am I doing it right? (This is also while it is still undetected.)
