Ipod Touch 4g Cracked Screen
Sup guise...,
Today was the day where I met such a horrible incident. Well, I was roaming around out of boredom and I walk past my kitchen and then suddenly I decide to swing my hand back-and-forth and my iPod slips out, hits the counter, bounces off and falls flat on the tile floor. Being the unlucky person I am, it fell on it's screen. It was a tough crash, and ended up cracking literally the whole display screen. The battery is working perfectly fine, there are no wifi problems, the touch-screen works perfect, and basically everything is functioning goodly asides from the cracked screen.
Now, I did some research on how to repair cracked screens. I'm not looking forward to purchasing those DYI kits, as I have no experience and am afraid that I might mess up and creating another ruckus. My warranty is over, and I'm pretty sure Apple wouldn't cover a physical damage with their warranty anyways..., but I went onto their website and noticed that they charge $99 for a repair. Honestly, I do not want to pay $99 just to fix the display screen. I've Google'd "iPod Cracked Screen Repair" and found a lot of third-party places where they repair it for about $50.
Now, my real question is, are there any places where they repair cracked display screens for even cheaper? I'm not interested in international places such as China and stuff, as I do not want to be hassled with the shipping and stuff (I live in New York btw).
Thanks for reading, I would greatly appreciate if someone could provide an efficient answer to this!

There's some shops where they do it for you for like $20.
