Depends on what you've done for the ban
Usually your posts don't disappear unless all of your posts were offending the rules.
What Doc said and it depends on what rule you are breaking for how long your going to be banned.

If you're talking about post-bans, then it occurs during specific milestones, such as 1,337, 2k, 3k, 4k, 5k, etc. It'll usually be like a 2 day ban, but it's mandatory if you achieved a lot of your posts in the General section. If you go over, then I think the ban is extended, don't really know since I've never gone over.
