Developers User Group

Invite-only user group. The purpose it to attract more programmers to MPGH.


To qualify you must have sufficient knowledge in one of the listed skills, and have someone test you on them. Reference pages such as MSDN Library are allowed during the tests, however, you're not allowed to search for refference on basic language syntax etc. You will be monitored throughout the test on TeamV, and will have up to a varying 1-4 hours to complete the test(depending on reviewer). You are not rated on time.

Some segments of the user group may not be participating in projects that the groups decides to work on, for example, if we are reversing malware, the graphics segment of the team will not be participating. The development team will be creating projects that are not limited to hacks. Generally it won't be hacking related, but at some times we may choose to take part in such activities, depending on the group decisions.

One of the below skills are required to join the group(ASM is an addition and does not count for one.) :

• Basic Assembly(Suggested for most events taking place in dev team, though not fully required)
• C\C++ (Projects will be in C++ for the use of objects)
• .Net languages
• Flash AS 2.0 - 3.0.
• Photoshop - Texture Design
• Photoshop - Interface Design
• Modeling - Rigging, animations, etc

During the test, you will be rated on the following(Applies only to programmers) :

• Neatness of code, init\deinit objects correctly, memory management, pointers, etc. 45%
• Correct use of structs, enumerators, classes, namespaces, and arrays 30%
• Well organized code making use of source files and header files accordingly 10%
• Correct use of platform APIs %15

You must have above 70% to join. When working with games, an interface should be built by the programmers working with the render-code so those who have little knowledge of DirectX can add, create, and modify objects in the world with ease.

As a member of the team you must :

• Participate in weekly events, or projects.
• Help other members within the development team.
• Help other users on the forum if they have issues.
• Put effort towards working together as a team, and having fun.

i have a strong knowledge of AutoCAD..... does that count?

I don't think so. Autocad is not a programmer software, its just for building Houses, Devices and structural buildings.

His asking for people who know VERY, VERY much about the insides and outsides of the computer.

EDIT: Never mind, you can fit in modeling/animations.

I do know a lot about PhotoShop?

As a member of the GFX team, you're qualified to review members. PM me the results on the IRC in the format posted above. As an addition, you will be omitted into the team without being tested.

It's easy to detect a cheater. Extremely easy. This questions are an answer in 30 seconds, or don't know it. You don't have time to open a book. All the questions are scrambled.
