Replacing the snow tile

Replacing the snow tile
So I helped a buddy of mine by finding the snow tile so he could replace it, cause let's face it, a lot of the projectiles on the snow are a pain in the ass to see, especially enemies like the crystal prisoner. So I decided I'd throw a quick, simple tutorial together for those who want to remove the snow.

Things needed
-Sothink SWF Decompiler
-A image editing program of saving .png files(in this tutorial I'm simply going to use Photoshop).

How to
Image Gallery: http://imgur.com/SJCIR,vCq5l,SkGKc,fLRSw,zGtot,86Wxp#0

1) Open up Sothink SWF Decompiler.
2) Load in your .swf client file. I usually drag the client onto the program to open it, but you can also use the "Explorer" window to the left of the program to navigate to the file and open it that way.
3) After loading up your client, you should see on the right hand side a window containing "filename.swf". To the left of this entry there should be a + sign, click the + to expand the contents of the .swf file. Doing so will reveal some folders contained within the file, locate and expand the "Images" folder.

4) Expanding the images folder will reveal a slew of image files embedded within the .swf file. Locate "image 98" and check the box to the left of it.
5) After doing so right click on the file and select "Export Resources".

6) The "Export Resources" window will pop up. You can change the "Export Path" to what you please, but leave everything else alone. After doing so hit "OK" and the image file will have been exported.

7) Now open up the exported file into your favorite editing program and edit the bright red tile seen below:

Keep in mind this tile will not be red in the original file, instead it will be the snow texture. I simply did this to make pointing out the tile easier. You can change it to what ever you would like, whether you would like to use an existing tile or create one of your own. Each tile is 8x8 and doing anything outside of the red square shown will result in other tiles being affected within the game.
8) Once you are done, save the file in the same format it began in (.png).
9) Now go back into Sothink SWF Decompiler and locate the "image 98" entry again.
10) This time, right click the file and select "Edit". After doing so you should see an edit box as well as a folder icon pop up at the bottom of this window.

11) Click the folder icon and navigate to the image file containing the new snow tile and double click.

12) Confirm the image file has changed and then hit "Save" or "Save As" at the top.

Now run the client and test it out. You can also do the same if for some reason you'd like to edit the other files within the game (like the Uomo Sprite Client). Also I kind of rushed through the tutorial due to time constraints so I apologize ahead of time for any mistakes found.
Good tutorial but it'd be easier if you uploaded the images somewhere like imgur and inserted them using the [img][/img] tags.

Yea I actually did this to begin with, but as I was the was reading the part regarding no linking to outside sites and didn't want to risk getting in trouble. As well the image files are pretty large (1280x1024) so I'm not sure that would be a viable option.
Image hosting sites are fine, you can't link external download links or crap like 4df1y. As for the size large images get a thumbnail of sorts so no worries there.
Alright, when I get a chance later I'll re-upload the files and post them.

BananaNation would it be possible to add a mod to mod selector where it changes all normal floor tiles (non hurting) to like grass or some colour as the sprite world textures and a few more just annoy the crap outta me and maybe/probably other people?
Nicely written tutorial!
Good!

You have to use Photoshop/GIMP/a graphic editing software that can render transparent layers. If you do it in MSPaint or crappy programs like it it will replace all of the transparent areas with white.
