DayZ vs. DayZ
Well, I've been hanging out here for a while but I have yet to get it to work and I'm really not in the mood to buy another game just to play a so far free mod, which is incredibly wonnky btw.

So I was gonna start a discussion here on what you've done, what you will do and how you are planning the future of this game.

Did you buy the ARMA games just to play DayZ?
Will you buy the standalone too?

Will you skip buying ARMA and just go for the standalone that is rumored to come out before the year is over (even though I have my doubts now sadly..)

What will you do, what is your views on the new standalone, speculate release date? or do you maybe have a source of a pinned date?

DISCUSS!
i will just say, this wont have any reputation, people only want cheats, they enter here (they might have an account) just to see if some hacker/programmer posted a new free hack.

btw, i didnt buy anything, i just play in no cd key servers with cracked cd keys, i wont buy the standalone, and i wont never buy arma 2, and i think that standalone should take more time, in order to fix some bugs and whatever no one wants steam to touch dayz

Well said, may I add that they are walking the path of minecraft with the release?
They are going to release it in alpha stage at a lower price (so there are bound to be bugs, but they'll be fixed fairly quickly :P)
And if I'm not mistaken they mentioned that they'd release it before the end of the year, but that seems to have been pushed up, and for that reason too, they are fixing bugs that might render it unplayable.

But all in all, I'd say it would be worth the money if they range it as minecraft, I mean, have you seen the shots of the new interiors and the like? It looks atleast double the quality of what it can be now ^^

And if for some reason I'm not allowed to post links to their devpage then just remove it or tell me to do it instead of giving me a fraction.
DAYZ < Follow that link to see the screenshots and recent information, last one was in november though.
To be honest,
Though there is lots of things to do in dayz, after a month or two, i've basically done all the good things i can do.
I've played with groups of 10+ people, had huge camps, ran people over in helicopters then crashed into a tree, killing sprees at NWAF. Just to name a few
There is a lot to do, and it's much better with others than by yourself, but if you play a lot of the game too quickly. at least following my experience, slowly, you will find there isnt much to do.
When you first play and find your 1st ever AKM. It's amazing, but then 2nd time round, you know exactly where to go and it's not as fun, the, it become with that with high power loot and before you know it, within a few hours, your fully geared up which will seem good, but the same thing all the time isn't.

My take on dayz :d

That is true, but coming the standalone I wish for way more zombies in city areas and harder to get items and such, making it an even more hardcore experience.

I will probably get it if my economic situation clears up, it will probably be even better than the mod.
I will buy the standalone, if they have a method to prevent troll hacking. I read DayZ Standalone is going to have a position confirming system; I will miss teleporting around ;D. But I think with the new engine it will be pretty much fun.
Release: Seriously, how do they want to release this game this year in a playable version? -> next year

I didn't fully understand the question, but I think we both can agree with eachother about it being nice if it'd be release atleast in Q1 of the next year as the latest (the alpha version)
I wanted to say if they'd release it this year, it will be full of bugs and unplayable. That wouldn't be fun and nothing where i would think it's worth the money.
I didn't fully understand the payment system. Anyone here who knows more about it?

I know the plan atleast, I mean, they are going after the Minecraft standard, release in alpha stage and then update it along.
Alpha release will be cheaper than the full release.

So it'll be about 10 - 14$ at first, then it'll probably rise to about 25$
