Vella flash step

She has the same exact defense as any other char, except Fiona. She can wear the same sets, so there's no way she has less defense. Only fiona can get an easy 1k defense boost through shields. Every other chars have the same defense as Vella.

Maybe it's just me? There are other factors to take into account. It's just as bad as the lann.

It's probably just you. Every char ends up with the same defense. Except Fiona.
You can get the same defense as any char even on Evie. The only difference is that on evie, intelligence is more important than strength and heavy/plate doesn't give intelligence, so you can get the same defense at a huge m.att loss.

Well I found a good use for it. Use it just to out run people in races, dodge traps, and out run ikrual (however you spell that) or whatever fast chasing bosses.

It may seem kind of nubbish, but for now I love it for succubus. I'd rather over compensate out of her death pounce than end up dodging it fine, but still being grabbed. Also helps me get far enough away for her to spam missiles. I'm still pretty low so I'm resorting to backlash spam.

Dragon Tail swipes are pretty good reasons for it. Sure, if you're positive your slip will get out of the way by all means use that instead. I just like to be careful since stam regens fast enough for it to not matter. I tried to do it on my evie earlier, total derp moment. You get used to it though -shrug-

Storm step actually uses less than the flash step and also has a long invincibility time frame.
And I don't think you can spam back lash well, you have to time it or else it wastes too much stamina and might still hit you :P

There are many uses to this and I can list a few examples.

Elchulus napalm in which you need to get to a cover or another side of the map to avoid.
Succubus solos to trigger projectile mode.
Any dragon to chase them down (ex. you're a significant distance behind the dragon and it is planning to swing its tail to attack which leads to either backing off or flash-stepping to get in to deal damage and avoid the tail entirely).

There are probably a whole lot more scenarios which depend entirely on the player to decide whether its useful for the situation or not.

& Yea, If you're comfortable using storm go for it. I ain't rankin it up till later on. I got my battle resp as high as I can for now. Stam's pretty good for now ^^;

never mind that backlash can go all the way up to r1 (the only skill in the game atm). At lvl below 60 i think the distance that storm step offer is plenty, leaving it as is, in my opinion, is not a bad idea.
