trials help!!

in school we are doing mock trials about kormatsu vs. the united states which was about japanese right during civil war and the teacher asked me 2 be one of the associate justices out of 9 and we are supposed to help out the cheif justice which is like a judge but in the supreme court...one of my jobs is to help the cheif by sustaining an objection or overruling an objection! how do i know when to over rule and when to sustain! please help i would appreciate it thanx!
