New patch encrypts profile?

I just installed CA at work.. it's definitely not just plain text file anymore. It's all garbled here too. Took me forever to download since we're only on DSL, and the computer I have it slow, and I had to install it so nobody seen me.

I do have a program to rebind keys in Windows. I made left arrow become A and right arrow become D. In game, that makes you look left and right as opposed to strafe left and strafe right like the profile used to allow me.

If anyone has an old profile.txt I'd love to try that method of replacing it and making it read only. I'd even be willing to PayPal you a few dollars as I'm deperate for a fix.

Can't you just go inside ca go to settings, then the place where it shows the keys and change it? I remember you could unless they took that feature off too.

They do not allow you to set left and right arrow keys. Only up and down. Yet before you used to be able to edit profile.txt and change it yourself.

A few people have said they have backups of their profile.txt file. I have yet to see it.

That seems more like a Counter-Strike File, I don't remember having "Buy Weapon" as a hotkey in Combat Arms. But it looks similar - although the keybindings are a little different format.

OMG... this guy post something we are all very familiar with and he gets this. Oh well. Even replaceing the txt it will reencrypt it. What I dont know is if it overwrites any changes made, keeps changes made and encrypts them, or simply replaces entire file. When I boot it the headbob/weapon sway/autocenter trick seems to work. But it was always ever so slight before so I dont know for sure.

Have you not been following this topic?

It will NOT allow you to set a left or right arrow to Strafe Left and Strafe Right. Instead it makes you spin in circles.

Editing the profile.txt used to allow us to strafe left and right using arrows.

btw if you want to change it to left and right arrows, you can do that ingame. just click the gear at the top right corner. its located in one of the tabs. and btw this is the player.txt. i saved an extra copy in case the 1 i changed is messed up.

I use the arrow keys I have since Doom 2d Why because I am Left handed and I cannot use the W,A,S,D key settings and to be honest with you,You have more keys at your finger tips than with a WASD key set up also if you have a smaller keybord its easier to hit the space ( jump ) if you want to know how to use the left and right arrow keys I will make a tut for you all but please I don't give a Shit if you flame me but then again it just gos to show how small minded you are the game was to be played by a predominantly Right handed people and us left handed people have to suffer well I say no more.
