If you're new, I'd recommend you start off with an Condenser to get EMC and from there, build some essential tools like wrenches because those will help you break blocks in tekkit, if you break it with a normal pick, you lose a tier of stuff and it costs a lot so best to not waste it.

Mindcrack is the best one. Start with a Pulverizer.
